Juggling!

So Comfortable after her bath!
Ayla being silly with Mommy !
Hailyn snoozing!
First off, I cannot even believe that Hailyn will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! Time escapes me! I have been on my own for 2 days now- Thomas went back to work yesterday :( It is definitely a juggling act, but it is definitely not as bad as I thought. It is do-able. The only time it gets a little crazy is bathtime and bedtime- If I am trying to give Ayla her bath, how am I supposed to nurse Hailyn? It is crazy, but so much fun! I cannot even picture our lives without Hailyn. It has been only 2 weeks, but it feels as if she has been here forever. She definitely is a blessing!
Uhh... the sleepless nights!! She had some gas last night and did not go to sleep until 7AM! It was the longest night of my life- I had been up since 3Am the previous morning- so needless to say, I was dog tired! I got to sleep from 7-10Am- 3 hours is better than nothing! I only pray it gets better! Last night was the worst night thus far, so I assume it can only get better from here. She definitely has her days and nights confused- as did Ayla in the beginning weeks. I just do not know what more to do- It is noisy and bright in here during the day- hello, I have a 13 month old, so it is not like it is quiet around here- she just wants to sleep, sleep, sleep during the day. Today she has been up a little more than yesterday, so, we'll see how tonight goes. I am hoping for the best :)
I love my two girls so much! I cannot wait to see them interact with eachother! Crazy how fast the time flies!!
My diet starts today!! :)

Hailyn's Birth

I feel as if I need to write about the birth somewhere... so... Here it goes. We went in on Wednesday, September 19th for a scheduled induction at 6AM. They started my IV and then my Doctor checked my cervix at 6:30 AM- I was a good 4-5CM. She then proceeded to break my bag of water. They then started the pitocin- wicked stuff. Within 20 minutes, I was a good 5cm. So, they were able to start the epidural. The epidural went in with no problems. They checked my cervix an hour later and I was a good 5-6. I went from 5-6 to 7-8 quickly. ( when I was 6-7cm, she made me push because my cervix was so stretchy- I pushed and became 8cm.) I then started to feel all my labor pains! It was extremely painful. The anesthesiologist came in and gave me medication through the catheter in my back. That did NOTHING!! We waited about 30 minutes. and still nothing. The pains just kept coming and were getting stronger and stronger. He then decided he was going to reinsert the epidural. By this time, I was feeling the urge to push. So by the time the epidural was in, I had no time to feel the relief- and it was time to push. The epidural never reduced the pain- at least I did not think so- Maybe it took the edge off, but I felt EVERYTHING as I pushed her out. I pushed for 5 minutes and out came beautiful baby Hailyn. The nurses were taking bets on how much she was going to weigh. She was a big girl!! She weighed 10lbs 13 ounces and was 22 and 3/4 inches long!! I could not believe it. I knew I at least had a 9 pound baby in there, but in no way did I ever think I would have an almost 11 pound baby!! She is so beautiful!! With all the pain of labor, I would do it all over again! It is so wonderful being a mother of 2 beautiful girls! I am so excited to see what the future holds for my family and I!

Ready or Not. . .

Well, Hailyn will be born in just a couple days- Today is Monday and I am going in at 6AM on Wednesday. I have to tell you, I am getting very nervous about the delivery! It has not been long since I have done it, so the memories are fresh in my mind- which is a good and bad thing- the aftermath is what I am worried about the most. The logistics of it all- Having a one year old whom demands attention from Mommy ( and I am so willing to give it) and a newborn who needs the same, and trying to heal all at the same time. The first 2 weeks are my main concern- when you feel the worst. I worry about Ayla. She has never been away from me. I know she will be all right, she has Grandma and Daddy, but... It makes me sad. I have never been away from her as well. So, the hospital stay is going to be tough for me. I do not want to put Ayla out . . . I think the most time consuming thing is going to be breastfeeding- Seriously around the clock! This is the main thing that enters my mind- this and the no sleep :) I think when you are not pregnant- your body just does what it needs to do- you may be exhausted, but some how, you make it through the days with no problem. I guess I will soon find out! Maybe it will go more smoothly than I am imagining? I just do not want my daughter, Ayla, to get shafted... I think she is the one who is going to need the most attention whenever I can possibly give it! I think she will be a fantastic big sister, she is so loving and gentle with babies. It is happening whether I think I am ready or not. I have been feeling very excited- It has not been real to me that I am actually having another baby- that in a couple days I will actually be holding my daughter! I cannot wait to see what she is going to look like. To look at the tiny fingers and toes- To smell her- So exciting!

Hailyn Grace

I am almost 38 weeks pregnant! I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! We will be welcoming Hailyn into our family on the 19th of September. I am scheduled to be induced on this day at 6AM. Gosh, only 11 days from today. Time has seriously escaped me. I think maybe it is because I have my little Miss Ayla Marie to keep me busy- She is seriously the light of my life. She is the sweetest and smartest baby I know ( A little bias...) I seriously cannot get enough of her. It makes me sad that she is no longer going to have ALL of Mommy and Daddy's attention. This is all she wants and we are taking that from her. Now she is going to have to share our time. I think she will do so well. She is such a good girl- Has always been, since birth. I only hope and pray that Hailyn has the same temperment as her sister. My world will be so wonderful if I do not have a newborn who cries ALL the time. Ayla was never a crier... never belted out those piercing cries like most newborns do- She would just make little noises- grunted a lot. It was so cute!! I cannot believe that in 11 days I will be a mother to 2 little girls. I will no longer have just one child, but two children. Gosh!! So exciting!! There is nothing better in this world than being a Mother. Sure I have had my party days and those were fun, but NOTHING compares to the joys of Motherhood- It is seriously the hardest, yet most rewarding job I could ever want. I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with my children and watch them as they grow- to never miss a single milestone- Uhh... I love it!! I have always said that when I had children, I wanted to be the one to raise them. In today's world, that is not always possible. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband who supports this and thinks it is just as important as I do. I am proud to be a young mother- and Love where I am in life!!
